Tree ring studies in Sakhalin, Russia

In summer 2004 Olga Solomina and Gregory Wiles (Wooster College, USA) visited Sakhalin in order to collect tree-ring samples (larch, spruce) for dendroclimatological analysis (Table 1). As far as we know it was the first attempt to build a replicated, cross-dated tree-ring chronology in this area. The samples are under processing now. We show here a very preliminary chronology from Nogliki (NOG) site (FIG. 1)
